Verizon Frame Relay is a worldwide service for sending and receiving data over predefined paths along fiber optics and digital circuits at speeds of 56 and 384 kilobits per second (Kbps), as well as 1.536, 4, 6, 10, 22 and 45 megabits per second (Mbps).
Ideal for “bursty” traffic, Frame Relay divides information into frames or packets before forwarding traffic to its destination through a series of switches within the network. Packet routing is based on the customer-defined destination address contained within each packet.
